Bitcoin almost hit $20,000 on Sunday before falling back to around $18,000. It rose again this morning and at the time of writing the price is $18,771.

CME’s Bitcoin futures started trading today, with a sale price of over $20,000 for its Jan 18 contracts. In all, more 200 contracts were bought during the first hour. Read more in this report on coindesk.com

It’s not just hackers that steal cryptocoins – crime in the physical world can also involve digital currency. 35-year-old Loius Meza has been indicted in the New York Supreme Court, accused of coordinating an armed robbery and the kidnapping of a victim in order to get the keys to a digital wallet.
